CATARACT TREATMENT AND SURGERY

American Eye Center encompasses the knowledge and equipment necessary for diagnosing and treating cataracts. All cataract surgeries are performed by Dr. Peay at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, located in Mechanicsville, Va. From mild to severe, cataract patients can expect care consisting of proven methods. Throughout the process, Dr. Peay takes time to educate each patient on his or her condition and treatment plan to ensure they are part of the decision making process. Each patient is cared for as an individual and treated with compassion.

If it is decided that surgery is best option, our office offers multiple lens implants to ensure our patients have the best results possible. We have options  including monofocal lenses, multifocal lenses, and lenses designed to address astigmatism. Dr. Peay discusses pros and cons of all options based on the patient's history, and together a lens is chosen. He then personally does the surgery and all followup visits to ensure the quality of care.
